About the Author

Navagan Rachanark was born on December 29, 1984, and currently lives in Bangkok, Thailand.

Navagan Rachanark began his creative path in the short-film scene in the mid-2000s, directing 8-9, Continue, and Thaumatrope, before turning seriously to writing prose.

His short film Continue won the Artistic Contribution award at Movie Mania 7, organized by the Faculty of Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University, in 2007. Thaumatrope was also nominated for the Artistic Contribution award at the same event.

He has since published three books: two short story collections, Mani Mai Chai Khon Trani, Tae Ni Thi Thoe Mai Dai Ko Khrang Ni, Mai Samat Ni Dai (2022) and The Monster in the Abandoned Palace (2025), and a novella, The Morgue (2026).

The first collection is held in the Cornell University Library, Southeast Asia Program collection. The Monster in the Abandoned Palace was submitted for consideration for the S.E.A. Write Award.
